Hey,
Thank for posting your thoughts on Public Communication.
I liked that you mentioned the importance as well as ways to potentially make social media accessible to more people. Similar to you, I believe teaching senior citizens how to use social media is important. I used to volunteer at a senior home and the main reason why elderly individuals avoid social-media use is fear of the unknown. However, as you mentioned, it would allow them to join a community and foster connections. I definitely think there should be more programs dedicated in helping the aging population feel included in this technologically evolving world.
You also mentioned the ease in which false information can spread. Are there any other ways in which you think someone may reduce their chances of acquiring false information and potentially accidentally spreading it themselves?
Sincerely,
Kathy
