I enjoyed reading your blog post! I like that you mentioned social-media use and its relevance in society today. I agree that it would be useful for children to learn the many effective uses of social media outside of entertainment. I think it’s also important to consider the fact that with social-media use comes certain issues like online bullying, harassment and privacy issues. As a result, I think it would be important to teach children how to handle these situations and how to use social media responsibly.
Do you have any suggestions on how to protect children from the negative parts of social media use all while encouraging them to connect with likeminded people in a professional and friendship fostering way? Or perhaps, do you have any suggestions as to what age we should start encouraging kids to use social media for academic and networking purposes?
